Action for Community Care received fund from CAST Italy to implement the project “Terminalia sericea phase 2” funded by INDENA srl. General objective of the project was to improve sustainability in the supply of Terminalia sericea bark from Tanzania, to support the producers’ communities through projects with relevant social, economic and environmental impacts. Specifically the project aimed to develop and transfer simple guidelines in forest management; involve all bark root collectors in the association; strengthening bee keeping and establish school nursery activity. Key interventions included Bee Keeping Promotion; Value Addition on Honey; Establishment of Tree Nurseries in Schools; Support the Groups to have Local Association which is registered; and Conduct Trainings to Group Members on Forestry, and Forest Management.
