USAID KIZAZI KIPYA PROJECT

It is an HIV and AIDS based project aimed to enable OVC age 0 – 18 and young people age 18 – 19 years to access comprehensive HIV and other social services over 5 years from 2017 to 2021. It is funded by USAID and implemented by Pact Tanzania as Prime. The organisation implements the project as sub grantee of Pact Tanzania. It started with Bahi and Chamwino DC for the first year in 2017, Manyoni DC for the first two years-2017 & 2018 and Dodoma City from 2017 to date. OVC and their families are supported to access comprehensive HIV services and other social services through bidirectional referral and linkages and economic empowerment through WORTH Yetu groups, income generating activities and small businesses. Female Sex Workers and their families are reached too. More than 300 Community Case Workers (CCW) and Livelihood Volunteers (LVs) were involved to provide services to be beneficiaries. Currently for Dodoma City there are 155 CCW and 17 LV. ACC works in close collaboration with Local Government Authorities, Health Facilities and Care and Treatment Centers. More than 25,000 beneficiaries have been reached in all councils. House hold visits by Community Volunteers, Meetings at Health facilities, CTC and groups are used as platform of reaching beneficiaries.
